When Brainerd Lakes Health began plans to develop the new Heart & Vascular Center, we wanted to ensure the highest quality of care possible. After all, quality care, safety and patient satisfaction are our top priorities. To guarantee these goals were met, a comprehensive care model was developed based on the treatment plans of not just one, but two Top-100 Heart Hospital partners.  The Brainerd Lakes Heart & Vascular Center is led by cardiologists, program directors and administrators from St. Cloud Heart Center -CentraCare, St Mary's Duluth Clinic Heart Center, and an experienced staff hand picked for Brainerd Lakes Health from leading heart centers.

When it comes to safety, we have protocols in place that ensure each patient's case is treated with attention to the finest details.  A recent study by the Mayo Clinic has shown that regional heart centers like Brainerd Lakes Heart & Vascular Center provide care that is equivalent to that of large heart centers where open heart surgery is performed.  The key is that proven systems are in place throughout the hospital, from the emergency department to the cath lab to the inpatient unit.
