St. Joseph's Foundation supports St. Joseph's Medical Center by receiving designated gifts for its programs, awarding Community Health Initiative Grants to non-profit and governmental agencies that provide services in St. Joseph's Medical Center's service area, and supporting technology and service development at St. Joseph's Medical Center.
In accordance with our mission and vision, St. Joseph's Foundation acts as a catalyst in identifying and addressing the root needs of the communities we serve in a collaborative fashion with St. Joseph's Medical Center, other health care providers and public agencies.
The Benedictine values and charity are expressed through our commitment to promote the health of the residents of the area with special concern for the poor and powerless.
Community Health Grant proposals must focus on community needs within St. Joseph's Medical Center service area, be from a non-profit or governmental agency and meet one or more of the following criteria:
Proposals must be consistent with the mission and values of St. Joseph's Medical Center and Foundation. The Foundation favors proposals that meet multiple criteria and that demonstrate a clear, direct, and measurable response to the health needs of our community. The Foundation reserves the right to alter its eligibility criteria and focus to meet compelling community health needs.

The Foundation will not make contributions for:
St. Joseph's Foundation is reluctant to provide for ongoing operational support or general administrative expenses for existing programs. Similarly, organizations that have received funds from the Foundation will generally not be considered for future funding for 3 years after the initial award. The Foundation is reluctant to award funds for capital improvements ("bricks and mortar") unless Foundation funds are specifically designated for this purpose.
Proposals are reviewed quarterly, so please submit your proposal as early as possible. Because our resources are limited, we cannot fund every request. A Foundation grant does not guarantee further support nor is it a pledge for future support.
All successful grant applicants must submit a performance report to the Foundation within 1 year of initial grant award.
No further support will be considered unless a performance report is on file with the Foundation. By accepting Foundation funds, grant applicants agree to acknowledge the award in all appropriate printed materials, such as press releases, feature articles, donor recognitions or by other suitable means.
Applications must be received by the first day of January, April, July and October. A Foundation representative may contact you for more information or to schedule an on-site visit to help clarify your proposal. The Foundation will notify all grant applicants of their status after the final review process.
